To give myself space to evaluate knowledge gained from the previous two years, and to further increase my frame of reference within the world of post-humanistic design and more-than-human design I will be taking a gap year.
I will also be filling this year with a board year at s.v.i.d. Lucid. Here I will learn to become highly proficient at managing and running a small business. I will be confronted with many challenges both personal and team oriented.
Keeping an eye on my studies, during my board year, I want to follow the mandatory course of (OLVX20) ITEC: engineering for society during the third quartile so I can follow (DAB200) Design Innovation Methods in the third quartile during my FBP where I can immediately implement knowledge gained in the course into my project. In the fourth quarter I want to follow (DBB220) Intelligent interactive products, to increase my competence in MD&C. I am considering following (DCB220) Exploratory making in the second quartile to increase my competency in physical prototyping if it will not strain my workload too much.
After my board year I want to go on exchange to Japan to be fully immersed into their culture and their way of living, being inspired by the connection that has been fostered there between nature and society.
