Throughout my studies, I began to see the value and evidence of goals more and more. Being able to place my SMART goals that I formulated in my PDPs in a strategic way and then breaking them down to smaller-scale projects, implementing them through the use of a scrum board. A skill that I am now developing further is within my preparations for my board year with my fellow board members.
I do notice a weakness in course adjustment in line with the goals that I set for myself over a period. I notice that I tend to develop very quickly, not always in the direction that I set out for myself. But not wanting to stop myself based on passion and dedication to events or interests. This has hindered my ability to be able to set out long lines of development, especially with hard skills. Although I tend to implement those goals in these interests unconsciously, I would like to be more in control of this process. I have noticed that writing a PDP does give me the foundation to know what I want and how I want to do it, but I am missing a direct translation to my day-to-day workings. Something I need to build and interface for myself in my Notion page (my docking hub) to have a constant reminder of my goals.
I will emphasise my ability to be able to implement this in my board year to make sure my development as a designer will continue on a slow but steady pace on the side. I will also have a PI&V coach during my board year to help me with this.
Now That we have seen the past and the present it is time to look into the future. What next steps lay there? How will I develop myself further? Come with me and you will see.
